Henry McCain, PhD, LP

Dr. Henry McCain is a licensed psychologist having earned a degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2021. Dr. McCain completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship at Providence Saint John’s Child and Family Development Center from 2020 to 2021. Currently. Dr. McCain is an assistant professor at Alliant University in Los Angeles, CA. He also owns a private practice dedicated to psychological assessment and psychotherapy services. Dr. McCain areas of interest include psychological assessment, training, multicultural adapted interventions, gender equity, and addressing diversity and multicultural competencies in treatment and assessment.

Ashley Acle, MBA, LMFT

Ashley Acle, MBA, MFT, LMFT is a consultant, clinical supervisor, and advocate passionate about health equity and culturally sensitive mental health based out of San Francisco, CA. Ashley has been a leader in eating disorders for several years, working in behavioral health operations, research, clinical quality and regulatory compliance, and direct care. Her accomplishments include leading a systematic review of Cultural Considerations in the Treatment of Eating Disorders among Racial/Ethnic Minorities (Acle et al., 2021), highlighting core insights for researchers and practitioners treating eating disorders. Ashley frequently speaks to increase awareness and equitable treatment for eating disorders within Latine, Asian, and Indigenous communities. Ashley is passionate about building community among healthcare providers of color as a mentor and peer consultant. She is a member of several professional associations, including the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and their Margins to Center and Queer and Trans Advocacy Networks (QTAN).

Dumayi Gutierrez, PhD

Dumayi Gutierrez is an Assistant Professor in the Couple and Family Therapy Program at Alliant International University in San Diego and Online campuses. She has a passion for working with multiple diverse communities. She has published and presented nationally on minority stress, intersectionality of self and family sys tems, couple support systems, resiliencies of sexually diverse and gender expansive Latine/x populations, intersectional and cultural humble care, and Women of Color in higher education. She uses a narrative, experiential, and feminist approach, utiliz ing techniques of advocacy and empowerment. Much of her clinical work and expe rience encompasses intercultural, interracial, sexually, and gender diverse partners and families.

Gita Seshadri, PhD, LMFT

Dr. Seshadri is an Associate Professor at Alliant International University and the Branch Director of the Sacramento campus in the Couple and Family Therapy program at Alliant International University and Branch Director of the Sacramento Campus. She earned her masters and doctoral degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University. Her publications include research within the following topics: Diversity, couple relationships, gender perspectives of power within culture, grief, anger management, relapse prevention, and interracial couples. She also has a variety of experience working with various clinical populations. She enjoys working with students and helping them live out their passions in their respective careers. Of late, she recently wrote a book on the Interracial, Intercultural, and Interreligious experiences of couples and families across the life cycle.

Jonathan D. Sherman, MS, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Relationship Strategist, and speaker. He specializes in “Creating GREATness in Relationships” through his three main areas of focus: Marriage Mastery, Parent Training, and Self-Mastery. Shruti Singh Poulsen, PhD, LMFT

Dr. Shruti Singh Poulsen (PhD, LMFT, AAMFT Approved Supervisor) is a core faculty member in the online MA/PsyD CFT program, and the Branch Director of the online PsyD program. Dr. Poulsen has been a clinician, an academic, and scholar in the field of CFT since 1994. Dr. Poulsen’s research interests and scholarly work are primarily in the areas of cross-cultural responsiveness in CFT, clinical supervision, training, and teaching, and also focusing on interracial, multiracial couples and families, and the experience of immigration and its impact on individuals, couples, and families. In 2026-2017, Dr. Poulsen was a Fulbright Scholar at a university in Istanbul, Turkey.
